This is the story of how we all grow together in this colored egg community. A few generations into breeding our Opry Hill Moss Eggers, I noticed a handful of female offspring lay on with an affinity for camouflage coatings. This was beyond exciting for me to see but I had to know for sure it could be duplicated in later generations. I didn’t have the time or space to grow-out birds to test this theory so I utilized customers to help me with this endeavor. I sold these original chicks as a “project pen” at a fraction of the cost of our other breeds. They sold and I patiently waited for them to share their eggs with me. I knew I was onto to something when at the end of that first year the egg photos came in with more camouflage than I could have ever hoped for! I knew I needed to dedicate a pen for this project and continue to hone it in. 2025 was the year I saw it all come together with about 1/3 of all female offspring producing camp eggs. I feel confident sharing them with you all now and sharing the newest colored egg in the Opry Hill lineup: paying respect to tthe Mossy Oak Eggers
