Terms and Agreements

Thank you for choosing Opry Hill! We are grateful you are here. There are a few things that I would like to go over  below. Please know we are a small scale operation and I do my best to answer all questions in a timely manner. The easiest way to get ahold of us in a text or phone call to 406-570-1086 if you have any questions in regards to the terms and conditions listed below.

1. Point of Sale

All sales are now completed on the website using the payment options we have available through Stripe and PayPal. For those that are local, there is a cash option. This cash at pickup option does not apply to preorders but will only apply to over hatch chick sales done throughout the year.

2.Preorders:

Our preorders will happen in the order in which they come in. They will take place on the following dates:

Ship dates for February/March: Preorders in November

Ship dates for April/May: Preorders on March 1st

Ship dates for June-August: Preorders on April 1st

3.Order Refunds & Delaying a Shipment

All sales done with Opry Hill Farms, LLC are final. I have done a select number of refunds in the past. I will continue to conduct these refunds on a case-by-case basis. Some examples were a house fire, natural disasters, relocation or a sudden family crisis. Our preorders allow us to plan for our season and refunds can and due limit our ability to run our business. We run off of a hatch season that is fleeting and our whole year hangs on an estimated 6-7 month window of sales. We are open and willing to work with you on a different ship date rather that a full refund of your order. Customer communication and relations is always a forefront goal and we hope to work with you to find solutions to any issue that arise.

4. We sell our chicks as straight run. Please plan accordingly.

genetically speaking,  each chick has a 50% chance of being a rooster, please plan accordingly for how you will handle and provide for male birds you may not be able or wish to keep. I can no longer take back roosters but I am willing to help find homes for any roosters but there is no guarantee that I will be able to do so. I always try to help find a rooster a home if you do not wish to harvest them. The bottom line is, I try to vent sex, but I am just not great at it. That is to say, I do not feel comfortable doing so. First off, I have no idea what I am looking at half the time and to be able to really see what I need to see, you have to squeeze the baby chick. It is not the greatest feeling in the world so while I do my best, I am not comfortable with the accuracy of vent sexing in my hands. Do I try to give everyone females, absolutely, does that happen all the time, it does not. I am unable to exchange a male for a female at any time. Please commit to the process and its risks before purchasing chicks or eggs from us.If you require females only, please look into our coop ready pullet sale which happens in June. We have a select number of pullets available for sale each June and this is a great option for you.

5. Bio Security in Place.

Opry Hill Farms, LLC is unable to take eggs or birds back for any reason once they leave our home. We are participating in the National Poultry Improvement Plan and due to the biosecurity guidelines that go along with this, no birds are permitted back on the premise after they leave.  Many of our customers have good luck rehoming our young cockerels in social media groups and Craigslist. In addition to this, our biosecurity practices and participation in the National Poultry Improvement Plan means that we are unable to receive guests at the coops or to do walk-throughs at the time of pick-up.

6. Shipping— Hatching Eggs

Our promise to you: We will only send you eggs that are 1 to 2 days old at the time of shipment through the USPS. We will double box your eggs, use shock absorbing foam egg shippers and send using USPS Express shipping. We will drive the distance to our regional UPSP distribution office to shorten the time they are in transit, ensuring they leave our destination and are headed to your regional USPS facility in under 24 hours. We will not send eggs if our own hatch rates fall below 75% because we know that your hatch rate will always be lower than ours with shipped eggs. We have researched and learned the ways in which breeding stock needs to be fed to create an egg that will thrive during incubation. Since we know the nutritional needs of a breeding hen and rooster, we will feed our birds the highest quality feed and provide them breeder supplements/fats/amino acids needed for breeding stock to provide you with quality hatching eggs. We will give these birds room to free range and dust bathe. Sunlight and fresh air. An overall environment to thrive in. We will do all we can to have your eggs arrive and thrive during and after incubation and will be there at anytime to help answer your hatching egg questions.

Your promise to us: You understand that even with all our due diligence, there are no guarantees on hatching eggs. You are only buying because you understand and are willing to risk that they may not hatch. Your eggs can be rendered infertile due to x-rays, be damaged during shipping or transport, or be subject to temperature extremes. These are issues beyond our control and are an inherent risk of mailed hatching eggs. You have done your research before purchase and know how to incubate eggs to success.

7. Live Arrival Guarantee

We have a live arrival guarantee for the first 24 hours. You must receive the package from the Post Office within 2 hours of notice of arrival and place them under heat with hydration immediately. Please open your box at the Post Office to determine the state of their health and vitality. In the unfortunate event they are deseased, please send photo documentation of both living and perished/compromised chicks and we will refund you an adjustment per bird. Deceased chicks must be reported to us the day they arrive with all deceased chicks in one photo at the Post Office. This is mandatory and non-negotiable.

We ask that you open the box in the presence of post office staff or your local postmaster to be able to have their documentation in addition to your photos taken on site for our claim to USPS. Successful post office insurance claims are increasingly rare these days, and major losses must be documented at your local post office.

You have the option for a full refund for birds lost or  replacement of birds lost at some point within that year.

8. Shipping delays.

we reserve the right to delay your shipment date for. Some instances that would require a delay in our end would be a major weather event, extreme temperature shifts or issue with USPS. We have also had to delay a large number of orders due to a massive power outage that resulted in a 20% hatch rate. This was devastating for us and our customers but we were able to ensure everyone received their orders. Please know we will do all we can with what we are given.
